McKendree Youth

McKendree UMC

In 1883, a small community of devoted Christians came together to worship as part of a circuit of churches. In 1915, they built the white frame church "up the hill", now called the Lockridge Chapel where our youth meet. Visit the McKendree UMC website for more information about our church.

Our youth programs are designed to help high school and middle school students connect with each other and with Jesus, The Way, Truth, and Life. Our high energy WTL youth worship includes The Way (our youth praise band) leading worship, fun games, food, a relevant message from Scripture, and time where students gather with their peers to learn from each other and talk about life. Teens from all backgrounds and walks of life are welcome!

Director of student ministries

Kimmi Lochner

My husband Devon and I are so excited that the Lord has called us into ministry at McKendree.  I have been in youth ministry full time for four years now and continue to fall in love with it more and more each day.  Before my start in ministry, I went to Ole Miss where I got  my Bachelor’s in Science in Integrated Marketing and Communications. I am also currently finishing up my Master’s in Divinity at Asbury Theological Seminary. I am so excited to the big things God has in store for WTL, and to get to play a part in it!

Scott and I started attending McKendree in 1998.  We've raised our kids here, and have met many lifelong friends at this church.  I am thrilled to get to be a small part of the youth ministries of this church.  The kids bless me in ways too numerous to count, every time I spend time with them.

Favorite Hobbies:  Spending time with friends & family and hiking to waterfalls

Middle school coordinator

Mary Jones

I started attending McKendree in 2006. Over the years I’ve volunteered with 3rd grade Sunday School and Evening VBS. My husband and I were married at MUMC in 2013 and our daughter was baptised at MUMC in 2017. It is great to grow and experience all that McKendree has to offer. I look forward to my journey with the youth at McKendree and can’t wait to see what God has in store for us all.

coordinator of youth music

Emilee Allen

I came to McKendree in 2016 when my husband Tim began to work here with WTL's youth band, The Way. In my time volunteering with Tim, I felt called to lead and became the new Youth Worship Director. I currently attend UGA as a full time student and am pursuing my BA in Music Education because I am passionate about sharing the gifts of music and worship with students, and have found that same passion in the students at McKendree!
